Itinerary

Day 1

Casablanca = Rabat "The Capital"

Depending on your flight arrival time, we will be waiting for you in front of Casablanca Airport to begin our 1 0 Days Morocco Desert Tour. After meeting you, we will first have the opportunity to visit the impressive Mosque Hassan II.

Following the mosque visit, we will then take the road to Rabat, where you will spend the overnight stay.

Day 2

Rabat = Chefchaouen "The Blue City"

Today, we will go on a city tour of Rabat. This will include a drive around the walls of the Royal Palace and a visit to the Mausoleums of Mohammad V and Hassan II. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the old walled city and the magnificent Oudayas Kasbah on a self-guided walk.

After the Rabat tour, we will begin our drive towards the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen. The drive will take approximately 4 hours, after which we will arrive in Chefchaouen.

Once in Chefchaouen, you will start exploring the old Medina, Outa-el-Hamma Square, and the Jewish Quarter. You’ll also see a wide variety of artisan shops, restaurants with terraces, and cafés where you can enjoy, relax, and dine.

Following the tour of Chefchaouen, you will have free time to further discover the city at your own pace. We will then spend the overnight in a hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 3

Chefchaouen = Fes

After a hearty breakfast at the riad, we’ll depart for our journey to Volubilis. Along the way, we’ll pass through the towns of Ouazan and other parts of the Rif region.

Our excursion to Volubilis will provide an opportunity to explore the ancient Roman ruins and gain valuable insights into Morocco’s cultural heritage.

Following the visit to Volubilis, we’ll head to the city of Meknes, where we’ll tour the historic Bab el Mansour and enjoy lunch. Meknes is a 17th-century city rich in history.

Day 4

Full day in Fes

You will spend the day on a guided tour of Fes, the cultural capital and one of the world’s most well-preserved medieval Islamic cities. Start by exploring the Andalusian neighborhood and its beautiful mosque, entering through Bab Ftouh. Then, head to the Seffarine district, which is known for its tanning, dyeing, and copper production areas.

Next, visit the grounds of the University of Al-Karaouine, home to the oldest mosque in Africa. Be sure to see the famous fountain in the Nejjarine area as well as the stunning Nejjarine Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Attarine Medersa, a historic educational institution.

Continuing the tour, you will explore more of the Fes medina, including stopping at the famous “blue Gate” of Fes, Bab Boujouloud. Visit Borj Norj on the city walls for a breathtaking panoramic view of the medina below. Learn about the history of the area once inhabited by the Jewish community and see the exterior of the Imperial Palace. Finally, visit an artisanal complex on the outskirts of the city before returning to your riad.

Day 5

Fes = Ifrane = Midelt - Ziz Valley = Merzouga Desert

The 5th day of our 1 0 Days Morocco Desert Tourwill take us towards the Sahara Desert. Along the way, we will visit several attractions, including Ifrane, a town often referred to as the “Moroccan Switzerland” due to its alpine-style architecture and lush, forested surroundings. We will also stop at a cedar forest to observe the native Barbary macaques, a species of monkey, as they move about the trees.

Continuing south, we will pass through the vast palm groves and oasis towns of the Ziz Valley, situated in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our next destination is the city of Erfoud, known for its fossil museums and date palm production.

At the Merzouga Desert, we will go on a camel ride to witness the stunning sunset over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After the sunset, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night at a luxury desert camp in the heart of the Sahara, under the magnificent, starry sky. In the evening, we will participate in a lively Berber party, complete with drumming and an overnight stay.

Day 6

Merzouga Desert = Rissani = Tinger = Dades Valley

Today, we will rise early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After enjoying breakfast and a refreshing shower at the desert camp, we will ride a camel or travel by 4×4 vehicle back to the village of Merzouga.

Departing Merzouga, we will drive to the town of Rissani, where we will explore the historic marketplace and local sights. Continuing our journey, we will pass through several more traditional Berber settlements, including Mellab, Tinjdad, and Jourf, a village renowned for its ancient irrigation wells.

Our next destination is the Todra Valley, home to the magnificent Todra Gorge, featuring towering 300-meter-high cliffs. We will have the opportunity to take a walk through the dramatic gorge before moving on to the scenic Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.

Day 7

Dades Valley = Ouarzazate = Marrakech

Today, we will continue our journey towards the city of Ouarzazate, passing through the picturesque Rose Valley and the lush Skoura Oasis along the way. Our primary destination is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, located 27 kilometers outside of Ouarzazate.

This stunning fortified palace has served as the backdrop for numerous Hollywood productions, including “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” and “Prince of Persia,” among others. The Kasbahs of southern Morocco are excellent examples of the distinct architecture and culture of the region.

After exploring the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah on a walking tour, we will drive through the Tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains, where we will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views and encounters with traditional Berber villages along the way. Our final destination for the day will be the vibrant city of Marrakech, where we will spend the night.

Day 8

Full day in Marrakech

The guided tour of Marrakech will begin at the city’s defining landmark, the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque with its iconic tiled minaret. Next, we will visit the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century architectural marvel featuring a grand courtyard, beautiful fountains, ornate tilework, intricate wall carvings, and tranquil gardens – an excellent spot to find respite.

We will then explore the Saadian Tombs, which were carefully restored after their rediscovery in 1917, and have since become one of Morocco’s most popular attractions. Our tour will also include a visit to the impressive Dar Si Said Museum.

In the afternoon, we will enjoy the vibrant souks (marketplaces) of Marrakech, where each trade – spices, carpets, jewelry, enamel, copper, brass, and cedar – has its own unique quarter.

As evening approaches, we will head to the lively Djemaa el-Fna square, which comes alive with an ever-changing array of entertainment, reaching its peak at sunset when storytellers, healers, snake charmers, acrobats, and countless food stalls fill the bustling square.

Day 9

Day in Marrakech " The Red City"

Today is dedicated to relaxation and leisure. You will have a free day to enjoy a variety of activities at your own pace, such as:

- Cooking classes to learn the secrets of Moroccan cuisine

- Indulging in a traditional Hammam (steam bath) and spa treatments

- Exploring the vibrant shops and markets for unique souvenirs and gifts

- You will spend the night enjoying the comforts of your accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 10

Airport Transfer

On the final day of our 1 0 Days Morocco Desert Tour, after enjoying breakfast, you will have some free time to explore Marrakech at your own pace. When it is time to depart, we will transfer you to the airport, with the timing based on your flight schedule.
