Explor Casablanca
We will pick you up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Casablanca. As the economic center and largest city in Morocco, our first stop will be the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country, located on the city’s western coastline overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
After the mosque visit, you will have free time for lunch. We will then explore the city further, including a visit to the stunning Corniche of Casablanca.
Casablanca = Meknes = Fes
We will depart Casablanca and head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This well-preserved site is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage location, featuring beautiful mosaics, pillars, and archways scattered throughout.
Following our exploration of the ruins, we will drive 30 km to the imperial city of Meknes, one of Morocco’s former capital cities. In Meknes, we will visit the impressive Bab El-Mansour gateway, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the impressive granaries, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
From Meknes, we will then continue our journey to the cultural hub of Fes, where we will check into a traditional Riad for an overnight stay.
Fes = Ifrane = Ziz valley = Night in Merzouga Sahara
We will make our way through Imouzzer to the city of Ifrane, famous for its low temperatures, snowfall, and alpine-style architecture earning it the moniker “the Switzerland of Morocco”.
After exploring Ifrane, we will continue on to the nearby cedar forests, home to the Barbary macaque monkeys. Feel free to wander the forests and feed these fascinating primates.
Continuing our journey, we will reach the town of Midelt, where you will have free time for lunch. We will then drive through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the scenic Ziz Valley, stopping to take in the panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will transfer to camels and cross the sandy expanse. We will make a stop atop a high dune to witness the spectacular sunset.
Finally, we will reach our camp, a blend of traditional Berber tents and modern luxury amenities. Spend the evening enjoying Berber drumming and dancing around the campfire under the vast starry sky, before sitting down to a delicious dinner and an overnight stay in the desert camp.
Merzouga Sahara = Rissani = Erfoud = Tinger = Dades Valley
Waking up early in the morning is essential to witness the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. After a free breakfast, you will return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting. Then, we will leave the desert to visit the town of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading center in the region.
After exploring the Rissani marketplace, we will continue on to Erfoud, where we will visit one of the workshops specializing in fossilized marble. Driving through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves, we will then reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra river has carved a majestic red-walled canyon through the mountains, creating an ideal location for rock climbers. Feel free to wander the gorges and appreciate the stunning landscape. We will break for a free lunch at a local restaurant.
Continuing on, we will drive through Boumalne Dades to reach the Dades Valley. Along the way, we will make inevitable stops to admire the “monkey fingers” rock formation and take in the views of the Dades Valley. Finally, we will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
