Itinerary

Day 1

Full day in Fes

You’ll begin exploring Fes, known as “the Spiritual City of Morocco”. You’ll spend the morning delving into Medina, visiting numerous sites of cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Karaouine Mosque and University, the iconic Tanneries, and the Najjarine Fountain.

Taking after lunch, we’ll drive exterior the Medina to see the RegalRoyal residencedoor, walk through the Jewish quarter known as the Mellah, and at that point visit a ceramicsagreeable.

In the evening, we’ll drive to one of the adjacentposts to encounter an astonishingall encompassingseeignoring the whole Medina of Fes.

For the night, your accommodation will be in an authentic riad located right in the heart of the old Medina.

Day 2

Fes = Ifrane = Medilt = Sahara Desert

we’ll depart Fes and head towards the magical Middle Atlas Mountains. We’ll make a stop in the charming town of Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its weather, architecture, and historical significance. We’ll take a short break to walk around before continuing on.

Next, we’ll visit the largest cedar forest in Morocco, located beside the town of Azrou. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see Barbary monkeys living in the wild.

Continuing our drive, we’ll pass through several Berber villages like Timhdit, Zaida, and Medilt, winding our way through the mountains of the High Atlas range. Eventually, we’ll reach Errachidia, where the lush Valley of palm trees creates a verdant oasis ideal for growing a variety of fruits and vegetables.

From there, we’ll proceed to Erfoud, the “capital of Fossils,” where the landscape is abundant with ancient marine life fossils from when the area was once covered by the sea. As we leave Erfoud, the asphalt gives way to Saharan tracks of adobe, leading us to the village of Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara Desert.

Day 3

Night in Merzouga

Today, we’ll explore the Erg Chebbi region in greater depth. Our first stop will be the town of Khamlia, where we’ll discover small villages and inhabited homes in remote, off-the-beaten-path locations.

We’ll also have the opportunity to visit with nomadic people who are eager to share their traditional way of life with visitors. Continuing our journey, we’ll visit an old mine located near the border between Morocco and Algeria, which was originally discovered by the French.

Returning to town, we’ll enjoy a typical local lunch, including a dish called “Berber Pizza.”

In the afternoon, you’ll have a once in a lifetime experience camel trekking! You’ll be guided by an experienced cameleer as you ride the friendly camels up and down the sand dunes, with stops along the way to take in the breathtaking landscapes and stunning sunset.

After about 1.5 hours of camel riding, you’ll arrive at a desert camp situated in the heart of the Sahara. Here, you’ll enjoy dinner and the sounds of traditional Berber music under the stars.

Day 4

Tinger = Dades Valley = Ouarzazate

We’ll depart for Rissani, the old center of the Sijilmassa caravan trade route connecting Timbuktu to Marrakech, and an important salt market. We’ll explore the bustling local market, the largest in the region.

Continuing our journey, we’ll travel through a semi desert landscape until we reach the oasis town of Tinghir, one of the most beautiful places in Morocco.

Next, we’ll arrive at the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in the country, reaching 300 meters in height. This is a popular destination for rock climbers.

Following lunch, we’ll drive on to the Dades Valley, another impressively scenic location. We’ll make a stop in the “City of Roses”, where the fragrant Damask rose is grown, for the opportunity to visit a cooperative and see how rose products are produced.

From there, we’ll travel along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” until we reach Ouarzazate, a major filmmaking hub known for hosting the production of movies like Gladiator, Troy, and The Mummy at the Atlas Corporation Studios. We’ll visit the studio after checking into our hotel for the night, which will include dinner and breakfast.

Day 5

Ouarzazate = Ait Benhaddou = Marrakech

On the fifth day we’ll head down the road towards Ait Ben Haddou – the “queen of kasbahs” and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll explore this historic site. Later, we’ll visit one of Morocco’s most remarkable landmarks, the Kasbah of Telouet, the ancient palace of the Glaoui dynasty’s Pasha of Marrakech.

From there, we’ll continue our journey, passing through the highest mountain pass in Morocco, the Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m). We’ll stop along the way to take in the panoramic views and have lunch before reaching the imperial city of Marrakech. For the night, we’ll stay in a traditional riad.

Day 6

Full day in Marrakech

We’ll go on a full-day guided tour to discover the city of Marrakech. Known as the “Red City” for the distinctive color of its walls, Marrakech is filled with lush gardens fed by underground irrigation systems (khettaras) built by the Almoravids and Saharan nomads in the 11th century.

On this tour, we’ll visit some of the city’s must-see sites – the Menara, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Majorelle Gardens and souks. The highlight will be exploring the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where you can see dancers, storytellers, jugglers, artisans, merchants, and even snake charmers. Throughout the day, you’ll also have free time to wander and discover the city on your own.
