On the to begin with day of this 7 Days Trip From Tangier to the Royal Cities, we will choose you up from the airplane terminal or harbour and at that point drive to Chefchaouen
(the blue city) through the Rif Mountains and the city of Tetouan, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful mountain views along the way. You will overnight at your riad or hotel.
Chefchaouen = Volubilis = Meknes = Fes
Our authentic journey will begin towards Volubilis, crossing through Ouazan and other Rif villages along the way. In Volubilis, we will explore the best preserved Roman ruins in Morocco and learn about the archaeological site’s significance in Moroccan history.
Following the visit to the ruins, we will shift our way to the city of Meknes, a 17th-century heritage site. We will stop for lunch and wander around the historical, massive walls of the medina, including the iconic Bab El Mansour and the Moulay Ismail tomb. After exploring Meknes, we will drive directly to the city of Fes, where you will spend the night.
Full day in Fes
Today, you will have a guided visit to find the medina and the popular souks of Fes. The limit, cobbled lanes are filled with old mosques, towering green coated minarets, and special Andalusian engineering in each corner of the ancient city and its monuments.
We will ensure that you visit all sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al-Qaraouine University. The tour will also include a visit to the tanneries and the ceramic cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts in action. You will overnight at your hotel or riad.
Fes = Azrou = Midelt = Merzouga "Erg Chebbi Dunes"
We will pick you up from your hotel or riad, then drive south to Azrou via Ifrane (known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”) and continue on to the Middle Atlas mountains. We will stop at the cedar forest to take some fascinating photos with the Barbary Apes.
We will then continue our journey through the Atlas Mountains, enjoying the landscapes of Midelt. After lunch, we’ll proceed through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, before finally reaching Merzouga. You will overnight at your local hotel.
Explore Merzouga
We’ll start by exploring the area, visiting the village of black people originally from Mali to enjoy their music and learn about their way of life.
After that, we will drive to the Miffis Mines to explore how the locals work there, before heading behind the dunes into the open desert with its charming views. Here, we will sit with the local Bedouins and enjoy a warm cup of tea.
Before returning to the hotel, your local guides will teach you how to properly mount and dismount a camel, as well as provide other helpful camel related safety tips. Then, you will startinvestigating the secretive sand ocean of the Erg Chebbi.. You will overnight in a Berber tent.
Merzouga = Jerf = Tinger = Boumalne
Continuing our 7 Days Trip from Tangierto the Imperial Cities, we will wake up early in the morning to witness the most breathtaking sunrise of your life, as the different shadows and colors cast over the sea of sand dunes, the highest in Morocco.
Before returning to our desert hotel, we will enjoy breakfast, then continue on to Tinghir and the stunning Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. The glut is a extraordinary spot for climbing and unwinding on the edge of the waterway, or testinga fewnearby Berber delicacies.
After lunch in the heart of the gorge, we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where we will end our day by spending the night in a lovely hotel located atop the mountain.
Boumalne = Ouarzazat = Marrakech
After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna (the city of roses) and Ouarzazate. The road through the Dades Valley, known as the way of a thousand kasbahs, will provide numerous opportunities to capture some of the best photographs of your trip.
Next, we will make a short stop at the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate before continuing on to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest kasbah in Morocco. This fortress was built in the early 20th century by T Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains, and was one of his stops during his travels between the Sahara and Marrakech.
We will also visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. After lunch, we will cross the High Atlas mountains, enjoying the panoramic views and charming Berber villages along the way, until we reach Marrakech, where this 7 Days day trip from Tangier to the Imperial Cities via the Sahara desert will come to an end.
